EXPECTATIONS
Elementary students grades 3-5 are expected to sign in on the FLVS learning platform, BUZZ, the Monday of the virtual week to see assigned lessons and activities. A designated FPS employee will be responsible for checking attendance daily. Students will be assigned 4.5 hours per day of virtual learning activities meant to reinforce and continue learning standards. Kindergarten students will work with a teacher via Google Meet each day for at least 60 minutes.
Middle school students are expected to sign in every day for attendance purposes. A designated FPS employee will be responsible for checking attendance daily. Students will be assigned 4-5 hours per week per content area at the secondary level. A content teacher will be checking in with students during the virtual learning week via a scheduled Google Meet. Students are expected to follow the policies indicated in the student handbook.
High school students will be assigned 4-5 hours per week per content area. Students must sign in daily by 12PM for attendance purposes, but they will not have weekly scheduled meetings with content teachers because we believe that high school students will benefit from learning to pace themselves. Fairhaven PS will monitor attendance using activity reports pulled from FLVS. Student activity and attendance during the virtual week count toward the overall grade which is determined by the respective course teacher. Students are expected to follow the policies indicated in the student handbook. Check out some virtual learning student expectations here.
