Senior Seminar


Senior Seminars are classroom guidance lessons that cover topics such as college/post-secondary timeline, college application process, as well as the financial aid and scholarship process. Seniors are scheduled into these lessons based upon elective periods.

Individual Senior Meetings

Senior meetings were held with school guidance counselors throughout the fall to discuss the individual needs and future plans of every senior, often meeting more than once.

Topics discussed in individual meetings include:

a) Graduation status and review of requirements

b) GPA and class rank

c) Plan (Education: 2-year, 4-year, technical school, certificate program, Military: which branch, has student met with recruiter, spoken with family, taken the ASVAB, and Career: Line of work, if job is already held or set up)

d) Career interests

e) College fairs and visits

f) College Board

g) SAT and ACT

h) NCAA Clearinghouse (for students intended to play Div. I or Div. II athletics in college)

i) Application process at FHS

j) Basic financial aid information
