Mr. Medeiros (School Guidance Counselor)


Mr. Doug Medeiros has been on the FHS staff for the last 15 years. He began as the school Social Worker and made the shift to guidance 10 years ago. He earned his bachelors degree in Economics from UMass Amherst in 1983 and his Masters in Social Work from Boston University in 1988. He has been the chess coach at FHS since 1996 and has guided the team to 2 Southcoast Championships. Mr. Medeiros works with students whose last name begins A-E.



Mrs. Dickey (School Guidance Counselor)


Mrs. Taryn Dickey joined the FHS guidance staff at the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year. Prior to FHS, Mrs. Dickey worked at East Bridgewater High School as a guidance counselor for three years. Mrs. Dickey earned both her bachelor of science in psychology and her master of education in school counseling from Bridgewater State College. Mrs. Dickey is the class of 2014 co-advisor. Mrs. Dickey works with students whose last name begins F-M.


Mrs. Garth (School Guidance Counselor)


Mrs. Ashley Garth arrived at Fairhaven High School in December of 2009. Mrs. Garth came to FHS from Sandwich High School, where she worked for three years in the guidance department.  She completed her Bachelors' degree at the University of Florida and Masters' degree in Counseling at Wake Forest University.  She completed an Adminstrative Licensure program through UMass-Dartmouth.  Mrs. Garth works closely with the FHS Freshmen Collaborative, 8th Grade Transition events, the after-school peer tutoring FOCUS program, and is a co-chair of the FHS Self-Study. Mrs. Garth works with students whose last name begins N-Z.


Mrs. Joseph (School Social Worker)


Marjorie Green Joseph, LICSW joined the FHS guidance staff at the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year.Her primary role is to address the social and emotional needs of students.Mrs. Joseph brings with her 30+ years of experience working with people who have developmental disabilities, mental health issues, and substance use issues.She also has worked with people who have witnessed violence, been the victim of violence, or the perpetrator of violence.Most recently, she has worked in an evidence-based program with adolescents using drugs and alcohol.Mrs. Joseph has a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from Brandeis University and a Master of Social Welfare from the University of California at Berkeley.
