NEASC Accreditation

The Fairhaven Public School District is excited to announce that we are the first Massachusetts district to receive District Accreditation from the New England Association of School and Colleges, Inc (NEASC), a commission on public schools! We are awaiting our final letter, but are pleased to share the final report with you!! Inclement Weather Communication

As we approach the winter season, we want to take a moment to share important information and reminders regarding our communications about inclement weather and potential school closures. Please take a moment to review the details below.
In the event of inclement weather, the Fairhaven Public Schools utilizes the following process for communication to families and staff:
Television and Radio:
As soon as a decision is made, FPS will broadcast early dismissals, delayed openings and school closures via local television/radio networks. Our district broadcasts information on the following channels/station:
WBZ Channel 4
Channel 6, 10, and 12 (Rhode Island Broadcasting Stations)
Fox 25
WHDH Channel 7
NECN
Blue Devil TV (Local Channel 9)
WBSM Radio

Email/Phone Call:
In the event of an early dismissal, the Superintendent will communicate to all families via email and phone through School Messenger as soon as a decision is made.
If a decision is made to close our schools for an entire day or delay the start of a particular day:
If the decision is made the night before, every effort will be made to notify families by approximately 9:00 PM.
If a decision is made the morning of, every effort will be made to notify families by approximately 6:00 AM.
